NAVEEN PATNAIK RECOMMENDS LOKAYUKTA PROBE INTO ALLEGATIONS AGAINST GOPALPUR, MLA

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday referred the criticism of corruption towards expelled BJD MLA Pradeep Panigrahi to the Lokayukta for investigation.

Panigrahi, a three-time MLA and a former Higher Education Minister, was arrested on charges for allegedly defrauding individuals promising them jobs, and sent to jail.

On December 3, the CID Crime Branch had arrested Pradeep Panigrahi   for his alleged complicity in the job fraud charges levelled against Akash Pathak, the son of suspended IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak. in connection the CID CB  arrested Panigrahi with Cyber Police Station case no 26/2020 u/s 419/420/467/468/469/471/120-B IPC r/w sec 66 C/66 D of IT Act 2000 as there was sufficient prima facie evidence against him in the case.
