Naveen Patnaik advises lab technicians ;Treat patients with utmost respect

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday advised the newly appointed laboratory technicians to treat the patients with utmost respect and do the job in a professional manner.

As many as 550 laboratory technicians joined the State Government in the Health department on Friday.

Joining the induction programme, the Chief Minister said the 5T initiative of the Government should be the key principle of their career. People are the soul of democracy. Hence, the Government attaches highest priority to the people’s needs, Naveen said.

Expressing the Government’s commitment to provide universal access to quality healthcare services and bring down out of pocket expenses of the people, he said large number of posts of Medical Officers and other healthcare workers have been created to strengthen delivery of healthcare service.


The Chief Minister expressed happiness over recruitment of 550 laboratory technicians in one go, besides the appointment of 510 Medical Officers last month. He expressed confidence that this will improve quality and timely reporting of diagnostic services by strengthening NIDAN that provides free diagnostic testing.

It will also improve the satisfaction of the people who visit the Government facilities, he said. Naveen said the guiding principle of his governance in healthcare is “Sustha Odisha, Sukhi Odisha.” The State is committed to achieve it, he added.
