National Nutrition Month Celebrated at Utkal Alumina

Tikiri / Bhubaneswar: In its relentless pursuits towards community health and wellbeing, Utkal Alumina International Limited, a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries Limited of Aditya Birla Group has observed “National Nutrition Month” Programme at Old Aditya Birla Public School Premises on 27th Sept 2023 at Tikiri. The event was organized to spread message among the community about good nutrition, good food, healthy diet specially for women and children. The event was organized with the active coordination of ICDS department Kashipur block.

Almost 200 women from periphery village including AWW, ASHA, Lady supervisor from ICDS attended the program. Quiz competitions, experience sharing, and recipe demonstration were the key highlights of the program. The event was focused on sensitizing women mostly expectant mother and Lactating women on healthy diet and nutritious foods. The women were oriented on the recommended protein and vitamin intake especially during this gestating and lactating period. For this, live demonstrations of various foods and a detailed elaboration of their nutritional benefits was done. The participants were made aware of how Early Childhood Care may aid in the holistic development of a child’s social, cognitive, physical, psychological, and emotional needs.

JasamaniHial CDPO In-charge Kashipur, Dr. Janmejaya Dash Medical officer in-charge Kashipur, Mr. Sunil Ray, BPM, NHM, Ms. Rinku Banerji, Principal ABPS, Sri Siba Mohapatra Lead CSR – Odisha Cluster & Downstream Aluminum Business, Ms. Lopamudra Mishra, Head CSR & CR Utkal Alumina have graced the occasion as distinguished guest and encouraged the participants about the subject theme and shared their valuable insights to the nutrition month celebration.

Ms. Niharika Sahoo, Department Head CSR Plant coordinated the event along with team CSR of Utkal Alumina. 

Mr. Mazhar Beig, Unit Head and President Utkal Alumina graced the valedictory occasion and expressed his gratitude to the women and government official for making the event a successful program. “Healthy Eating is essential for thriving life” Mr. Beig expressed this line and encouraged the participants to have locally available nutritious food adapting balanced and nutrition diet particularly for themselves and along with their family too.
