Multipurpose Indoor Stadia in Rayagada district virtually inaugurated by CM Naveen
Badal Tah, Odishabarta, Rayagada (23-02-2024): Three Biju Patnaik Multipurpose Indoor Stadia in Rayagada, Gunupur & Gudari blocks, built by the state government for the sportspersons of Rayagada district, which is mainly populated by tribals, have been inaugurated by Naveen Patnaik at Ambaguda of Rayagada block. This inaugural ceremony was joined by Nua Odisha Nabin Odisha and 5T Chairman VK Pandian, Minister for Disabilities Empowerment Ashok Chandra Panda, Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera, Sports Secretary Anu Garg, Chief Minister’s Special Secretary Vineel Krishna & others.
In the program held at Rayagada under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Manoj Satyaban Mahajan, Scheduled Tribe & Caste and Backward Class Welfare, Law Minister Jagannath Sarka, MLA Makaranda Muduli, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Saraswati Majhi, Sub-divisional Magistrate Kalyani Sanghamitra Devi, Superintendent Engineer Ambikeya Mishra were present. In Gunpur, MLA Raghunath Gamang, Gunupur Sub-Collector Kiran Deep Kaur, Tehsildar Lilavati Acharji, Gunupur Municipal Council Executive Officer Swastik Jamadar, Deputy Executive Officer Durga Prasad Pardhi, Assistant Executive Officer Ravi Prasad Sharma, Social Worker Akshay Das, Editor of Gunpur Sporting Club Devi Prasad Acharya were present. Similarly in Gudari, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana Advisor Sudhir Das, Special Development Council Chairperson Anusuya Majhi, CDO-cum-EO Nihar Ranjan Kahanr, BDO Anisha Das participated in the inaugural ceremony.
The estimated cost of this stadium, which is to be constructed at Ambaguda, Rayagada Municipality, is 9.86 crores of rupees. It has been built by Sri Rose Wealth Ventures Limited. The indoor stadium is constructed in Gunpur at an estimated cost of Rs.9.67 crores. Similarly, the indoor stadium has been constructed at Gudari NAC at a cost of more than 6 crores rupees.
In these dedicated indoor stadia, badminton, weight lifting, gymnasium, table tennis and yoga & exercise will be played. The stadia have been built keeping in mind all the amenities of the players.
“In view of the bright future of the players of the district who are interested in sports, this multi-purpose indoor stadia have been constructed”, said Collector Satyawan. The sportspersons of the district are enthused and motivated of the initiative taken by CM Naveen and 5T Chairman Pandian.
