Morals and ethics bypassed in Madhya Pradesh by dishonouring Devi Ahilyabai Holkar through name-change of crossing named after her in Guna

Bureau,Odishabarta

New Delhi:It refers to shocking media-reports about a minister in Madhya Pradesh succeeding in getting a crossing named after his grandfather which was earlier named after great Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. Such name-change at behest of selfish politicians is insult to Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, which was even resisted by the person donating land for the crossing and other citizens of Guna calmed down dictatorially by a Parliamentarian close to the minister having succeeded in name-change.

Central and Madhya Pradesh governments took take cognizance of the matter, and restore name of the crossing as Devi Ahilyabai Holkar chowk. Care should be taken in future that political heavyweights may not be able to get roads and institutions named after their family-members or favourites by removing names of great personalities.

Prefixes of monarchy nature should be removed from Rajmata Vijaya Raje scandia Marg and Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Marg in New Delhi in the manner that there are no such pre-fixes in roads named after Samrat Prithviraj etc in roads named after them. If Bhopal can have an important road named simply as Madhavrao Scindia Marg, there is no reason that road in New Delhi may also be likewise named simply as Madhavrao Scindia Marg.
