MONSOON SESSION OF ODISHA ASSEMBLY HAVE NO QUESTION HOUR

Bhubaneswar,22/09/20:The Monsoon Session of Odisha Assembly, which is slated to commence from September 29, will have no Question Hour. However, there will be Zero Hour and discussion on adjournment motion, calling attention motion and legislative bill.

This was informed by the Speaker Surya Narayan Patro to the scribes through Video message.

Speaker Patro said, special seating arrangements will be in place for the MLAs and a gap of at least 4 feet between them will be maintained.

Besides, an all-party meeting has been convened on September 25 to discuss several aspects for the smooth conduct of the Monsson Session amid COVID-19 scare.

COVID-19 test of all MLAs, Ministers and employees will be conducted two days ahead of the commencement of the assembly session on September 29.

Those who will test negative will be allowed to attend the session. Besides, senior members who are more than 60-year-old can attend the session from outside through video conferencing, if they want.

The session will be held for eight working days. Even the assembly will meet on Sunday. However, there will be a holiday on October 2 for Gandhi Jayanti.

No visitor will be allowed to enter the Assembly premises during the session. Seating arrangement will be made for the MLAs in visitor’s gallery and assembly house in consonance with social distancing norms.
