MKCG CLERK ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE ON GRAFT CHARGE

Berhampur: Today a Jr.clerk has been arrested by Berhampur vigilance wing for allegedly accepting bribe from a man to process a file for process the file to release of medical death clearance certificate.
Vigilance release said, on Monday evening accused Srikanta Dash Jr Clerk of MKCG Medical College,Berhampur has been caught red-handed by the Vigilance officers Berhampur Division while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 5000/- from the complainant of Satyanarayan Sarangi to process the file for release of medical certificate regarding death of his wife who expired at hospital during her treatment.
The accused Dash when received the bribe amount of Rs.5000/- inside surgery word the team, checked in his right pocket where the bribe money was recovered and seized.
The right hand wash as well as wash of the left side chest pocket of wearing safari of the accused gave positive chemical reaction.
The wife of Complainant Smt. Nirupama Sarangi was admitted in the MKCG Medical College, Berhampur on 11.11.2019 as a case of pain in her abdomen. While undergoing treatment she died on 13.11.2019.
As the medical certificates are required to be submitted for LIC claim of his wife, complt. has submitted application on 11.12.2019 addressing to the Superintendent of MKCG Medical College, Berhampur. The application was entrusted to the accused Jr. Clerk for necessary processing. When the complt. approached the accused Jr. Clerk for the medical certificates the later demanded Rs.5000/- to process the application and get his work done. Accused Sri Dash has been arrested and will be forwarded to Court.
Searches are going on in the office and residential Govt. quarter of accused at Medical Colony, Berhampur.
