Minor Girl Abducted, Drugged & Raped’ in Andhra Pradesh (!).

Berhampur,19/03/23:A minor girl was allegedly abducted by a youth from Berhampur of Ganjam district and raped after being drugged at a lodge in Simanchalam area of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh (!).
Police arrested the accused, identified as P Saroj Kumar Pradhan (35) of Sanadumula under Digapahandi police limits, and rescued the victim on Saturday.
According to Prashant Bhupati,Inspector-in-Charge of Bada Bazaar police station,the family of the minor girl had lodged complaint with our PS that she was missing 16/03/23 (Thursday) at early 5.30 AM from 3Rd Lane of Sriram Nagar,Berhampur. Giving priority we have registered a case vide the case No- 80, under IPC 363 and started our search operation.
Later the incident came to the fore after the girl escaped from the Madhuri Kalyan Mandap lodge on Friday and informed her brother about the incident. Later, Bada Bazaar Police team police along with family members reached there and rescued the minor.
Tthe statement of the victim has been recorded. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had spiked her food and drink. A glass and some clothes seized from the lodge have been sent to Forensic Scientific Laboratory for test. Officer and .The victim and the accused were also medically examined by the Police.
