Ministry of Civil Aviation should clear meaning of VT on all aircrafts registered in India
Bureau,Odishabarta
Delhi:Reports suggest that VT is abbreviated form of Victorian or Viceroy Territory, which is the nationality code that each aircraft registered in India is required to carry. Prefix VT continues ever since India was under British regime. Reports further suggest several other countries which were also under British regime, got changed the nationality code for their airlines after getting independence. If reports are true, then urgent and immediate steps should be taken by Indian government to do away with yet other sign of British monarchy still existing in India. Or else, Union Ministry of Civil Aviation should clarify the position in this regard. However reports true or untrue, nationality code for all aircrafts registered in India should be changed so that Indian planes may be easily recognised globally by the nationality code carried by them.
