MENTALLY CHALLENGED PATIENT SEVERS FINGERS AT MKCG HOSPITAL IN BERHAMPUR

Berhampur: A patient undergoing treatment at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here in Odisha’s Ganjam district allegedly severed three fingers of his left hand in a bathroom on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Ganga Madkami of Malkangiri, was admitted to the hospital after sustaining injuries in a road mishap.

Madkami reportedly picked up a blade which was lying on floor near a toilet in the hospital this afternoon and slitter his three fingers. He was immediately taken to the casualty ward for treatment.

Family sources said Madkami is mentally challenged. He had earlier lost four fingers in the road accident.
