Berhampur,( 07/12/25): Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar Conducts Health Camp for Berhampur Media Professionals  a free health camp followed by a multi-specialty health talk in associations with press club Berhampur, where 120 members of Press Club Berhampur took part in a dedicated initiative aimed at enhancing health awareness among journalists. Held  at Revenue Inspection Bunglow from 10 am to 3 pm,  In a pleasant atmosphere the programme was inaugurated by t Dr. Saravana Vivek M, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Berhampur, as  Chief Guest who lauded the hospital’s efforts in addressing the healthcare needs of media personnel.

The event also featured the launch of the Media Privilege Card for all participating members, offering them special healthcare discounts. Press Club President Mr. Ashok Brahma expressed appreciation for the initiative, acknowledging the value of such health-oriented collaborations for the media fraternity in city.

The health talks were conducted by a panel of specialists from Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar Dr. Dibya Ranjan Behera, Consultant – Interventional Cardiology; Dr. Sunil Kumar Dash, Senior Consultant & Director – Orthopaedics; Dr. Amlan Tapan Mohapatra, Consultant – Neurology; and Dr. Jatin Kumar Majhi, Associate Consultant – Endocrinology. Each expert covered essential aspects of their respective departments, addressing heart health, bone and joint care, neurological disorders and endocrine-related conditions. They emphasized how irregular schedules, high stress levels and limited access to medical care make media professionals more susceptible to chronic health concerns. Their sessions highlighted the importance of preventive care and encouraged participants to adopt healthier lifestyles.

Speaking at the event, Chief Guest Dr. Saravana Vivek M said, “This initiative by Manipal Hospital  Bhubaneswar is a thoughtful and much-needed effort. Media professionals dedicate themselves to informing society, often compromising their own wellbeing.

Followed by Dr. Saktimaya Mohapatra, Cluster Director – South East said, “Our focus has always been on taking quality healthcare beyond the hospital walls. By engaging directly with the media community in Berhampur, we aim to promote preventive health and encourage early detection of illnesses. We value the dedication of media professionals and are committed to supporting their health needs through initiatives like today’s camp.”.

The programme witnessed wholehearted support and active participation from  members of Berhampur Press Club, whose cooperation played a vital role in the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
