Man Projected as Tata Power Franchisee held for Duping People

Berhampur:On Wednesday Baidyanathpur Police, Berhampur has been arrested one fraudster namely Biswanath Biswal (42) of Kartti Sahi, on the allegation of duping the public of seven districts coming under the previous SOUTHCO-utility and earn an amount of Rs. 54 Lakhs.said,Prabhat Routray,ASP,Berhampur.
The accused Biswanath Biswal has falsely identified himself as the Managing Director of M/S. Maa Tara Tarini Services Pvt. Ltd. having his office at Doctor’s Lane under B.N.Pur police limit. He projected himself as the franchise of the newly formed TATA POWER which has taken over from SOUTHCO Utility. He represent the letter of authority of Vice-President Tata Power and induce the common persons of different blocks of seven Districts, Ganjam.Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Rayagada and Kalahandi and assured them of getting commission from TATA @ Rs. 170/- from each consumer as TATA is going to change the Electric meter in the house of each consumer of the above Districts. The accused induced the public to deposit surety amount of Rs. 30,000/- for becoming Co-Ordinator for each Panchayat. The Public has fallen quarry to the false assurance and incentive of the accused and has deposited the above noted amount. The accused also running his Office near Kali Mandir Doctor’s lane in Berhampur, he added.
According to the complaint by the General Manager Commerce, TPSODLS, Berhampur.BN.Pur,IIC Sarada Prasanna Dash and his team arrested the accuse. The Investigation is underway.
