MAN HELD FOR SMUGGLING LEOPARD SKIN IN ODISHA

BHUBANESWAR:On the basis of releable information, Special Task Force (STF) STF conducted a raid near sana maninag forest, Ranpur under nayagarah Police limit and arrested a wanted smuggler of a leopard skin.
The crminal idetified as Laxmidhar nayak, (36 years)resident of Jamugunda. PS, Chandipur Dist. Nayagarh,Odisha.
Acording to STF officer,On Thursday evening we received a smoke of leopard skin and bones of wild life .Getting the information our experts rush into the targeted place and one accused person was apprehended. Two Leopord skins and animal bones were seized from his possession of such skins and bones.
He has been arrested and are being forwarded to the court of JMFC, Ranpur In this connection STF PS Case No.19 dated 12.06.2020 U/s. 379/411 IPC r/w. 51 of wild life (protection) Act, 1972 was registered.
The seized skins and bones will be sent to Wild Life Institute of India, Dehradun for chemical examination. a STF officer said, adding that further investigation is on.
