Low Pressure Area Becomes Less Marked; Heavy Rains To Lash Odisha Till 8 th,

Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy Rainfall (7 to 20cm) is likely at isolated places in Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur districts of Odisha under the influence of a low pressure area, which formed over Northwest & adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts on Tuesday morning.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued yellow warning of heavy rain for isolated places in Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Balangir, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur till 8.30 am on Wednesday.
The weather agency has warned of temporary waterlogging at low-lying areas, poor visibility during intense spells of rain and traffic congestion in urban areas and landslides in hilly areas. Farmers have been advised to postpone fertilizer/chemicals application in agricultural field and keep livestock/domestic animals at safe places.
There is also a forecast for heavy rain at isolated places in Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj on 8th,September.
