Looters Gang Busted In Berhampur;Gold Recovered

Berhampur: In a major break through, the Golonthara police in Berhampur Police District busted a notorious looters gang and arrested three persons involved in a series of burglaries, on Monday ,They have been identified as ; P.Rajesh Kumar@Lokesh(44), of Gorila Street,Giri market Berhampur B.Town,PS,Bharat Sah(35) S/o Indar Sah of Saraikobibadi PS,Tetarpur,Dist-Bhogalpur(Bihar) and Dinesh Prasad Sah(45)Police have recovered 186.5g of stolen Gold jewellery from the possession of accused persons.
The seizures are;
Kanafula –one Hala(03 gram), Mudi- one piece(02 gram),Mangalasutra-Kalamali-one piece(11 gram),Locket(triangle)-(04 gram), One Chain(04 gram),one Chain,06 gram),Kanafula jhumuka –one Hala-02 piece(18 gram),Kanafula –one Hala-02 piece(05 gram),Stone green mali pendent locket(04 gram), One chain(08 gram), One chain white mala(07 gram),One Chain(08 gram), Mangalasutra-Kalamali-one piece(36 gram),One redmali mangalasutra(37 gram),One hanuman locket(0.5 gram),One Chain(06 gram), One Chain(09 gram),Red stone Handmudi-02 piece(14 gram) and Balaji god mudi(04 gram).
It may be underline that,one Nirupama Nanda of village Ralaba, Tulasi Bihara 1st lane, PS Golanthara appeared at PS on 24.09.2022 and reported that from 11.00 AM to 02.00 PM two unknown persons came to her house with chemical power and told her that if she will give gold/silver ornaments then they will clean the gold/silver ornaments by using their powder. Convinced by their words complainant gave her one gold chain, one Mangala sutra and one silver bracelet to clean. But the two unknown accused persons cheated the complainant by trickery and committed theft .
During investigation, Golanthara PS meticulously followed the case, and as a result identities of the accused persons were found. Later, raid was conducted and two accused persons – one Bharat Sah & Dinesh Prasad Sah were apprehended. During the interrogation they confessed that they are the members of a 4 member gang. They used to select senior citizens preferably women who are alone and committ the crime in the name of gold shining process.
The other two accused persons (absconding) used to convince their victims that loan will be sanctioned for their gold ornaments and bring them in their bike near the bank and just when they near the bank at a right time when they are alone they snatch away their ornaments.
After committing the crime these accused persons sell their looted/cheated/stolen ornaments to the accused P.Rajesh Kumar@Lokesh of Berhampur. The burglars have confessed to have committed such crimes.
Investigation revealed that these accused persons are also involved in other cases of different PSs.Verification is on to identify their involvement in cases of other PSs.
The Investigation of the case is in progress and Police are trying to arrest the other two accused persons involved. Police have recovered 186.5g of stolen Gold jewellery from the accused persons.
