LOOTERS’ GANG BUSTED BY GANJAM POLICE

Ganjam: In a major breakthrough, the Ganjam police busted looters’ gangs from different police station areas on Thursday.
This afternoon in a press meet Brijesh Ray,SP Ganjam told to scribe the gang operates the crime at Khalikote,Patapur KS Nagar ,Purusottompur under Ganjam police district as well at Phulbani.
Nine persons were arrested in this connection, SP said. They were involved in several dacoity cases in Ganjam.
Acting on a tip-off about the presence of the accused persons, Ganjam police conducted raids in kodola, Aska,khalikote and Buguda and apprehended the looters.
They identified as Jogi Gouda, Sibaram Das, Sunil Mohanty, Aswini Gouda, Tanuja Swain,Manoj Gouda,Bharat Pradhan,Sanjaya Nahak and Aditya Polai.
The cops also seized four mousers, 10 live bullets, 16 mobile phones, 4 Bikes and more than 1 lac cash from their possessions, further the SP Ray added.
Police sources said the looters’ gang were actively operating in Ganjam, Kandhamal and Nayagarh districts. The dacoits used to intercept those persons who carry more cash such as finance company staff and cattle traders in Gun point.
Among others addl.SP,Thakur Prasad Patro,DSP,Utkal Keshari Dash and IICs of all PS concern were present.
