Locals Block Main Road over Unscheduled Power  Cuts in Berhampur

Berhampur: Irked with unscheduled power cuts, Gosaninuagaon villagers of Berhampur in Ganjam district blocked main road from Tuesday night 10 PM till filing the story.

Vehicular movement on the main connecting road was disrupted for several hours as the agitators invaded the road shouting slogans against Tata Power Southern Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPSODL).

An agitator, alleged that TPSODL is not yet restore the power cuts for more than ten hours .

Though there has been no thunderstorm or any other emergency situation, locals are facing erratic power supply for the last 15-20 days.

Normal life of people in the city has been affected due to the unscheduled power cuts.

 Another protester Krushna Choudhury said on Tuesday, TPSODL disconnected power at 10 pm though the weather was normal. Till now, the electricity supply is yet to be restored. Lack of power for hours together is adding to our misery,” he said.

Amid the action plan by the villagers of Gosaninuagaon aggrieved locals detained an engineer of their locality. Police deployed on spot by the order of SP,Berhampur to avoid any unpleasant situation.
