Berhampur: Despite a surge in infections in Berhampur City, people continue to remain unconscious to the threat of Covid-19 Pandemics.
The “Balaji Diagnostic Centre & “Sahara Diagnostic Centre” ‘at Courtpeta junction in the heart of the city. Both of them are good commercial diagnostic health care units. Tuesday witnessed chaotic scenes as a large number of patients gathered at their entrance gate and many patients are inside the clinic in a narrow pass-way.
The ticket counter crowded with patients without maintaining physical distance in violation of the social distancing guideline and maximum are without Mask. Some patients are eager for their tests and reports and interestingly the patients have parked their bikes wheeler on read while all Officers, Magistrate, Covid power delegated enforcement team are the frequently moving through their establishment.
Similar scenes were witnessed at several Nursing Homes, Diognstic Centres and some they have shut the door with enforcement squad but the back door is open with same behaviour.
Few days back Commissioner, BeMC, Sideswar Baliram Bondar said awareness drive is being carried out across the Mahanagar to sensitise people about the importance of safety protocols.
As per the latest information, Odisha’s COVID-19 caseload on Monday surged to 4, 71,536 after 8,914 more people tested positive for the infection, while five fresh fatalities pushed the toll to 2,073, a Health department official said. Of the 8,914 new cases, 5,081 were reported from various quarantine centres, and the rest detected during contact tracing.
