Labrotory Technicians to wear Black Badges from Aug 1

Baliguda,(Kandhamal):The members of Odisha Medical Laboratory Technicians’ Association (OMLTA) have decided to wear black badges from August 1 protesting Govts’apathy as the state government is not responding to their long-standing demands.
They would also hold a token strike from August 16 to August 31 without hampering any government service.
They demanded that their designation should be changed from technician to technologist.
They also demanded mandatory training of all regular laboratory technicians in respect of blood component separation before preparation of gradation list of senior technicians leads to technical supervisor.
The association also Sought the creation of new posts and fulfill the vacant posts.
In K’Mal around 25 laboratory technicians working at 10 health centers in district and all with wear black badges, said Balaram Gouda,District Secretary of laboratory technicians, Prasanna Kumar Sahu, state co-ordinator Cchittaranjana Nayak and Priyanka Das too took active participation.
