KOZHIKODE AIR INDIA EXPRESS CRASHED WHILE LANDING: 18 DEAD SO FAR

BHUBANESWAR:Friday evening Air India Boeing 737 operating flight IX-1334 carrying 185 passengers on board with 6 crew members crashed while plane was landing at around 7.40pm. At that time it was raining heavily and visibility in the runway was less as per the preliminary information comes out in different news sources. The aircraft skids on the runway and dropped into a gorge. The plane slice into two pieces after the effect and soon after the rescued team and medical team with NDRF team rescued the victims in few minutes and shifted them to nearest hospital. Both the pilots have lost their lives as per the information.

An inquiry is initiated by the Aviation ministry. State Govt. have announced that it would bear all treatment expenses of the passengers those who are in the hospital and undergoing treatments. All the accident victims will be tested for Covid including all other who died. Many passengers are in critical conditions and undergoing treatment. Black Box of the crashed flight was recovered from the site and investigation is on. It is assumed that the pilot might have not sighted the runway properly which was later on countered by many experts in aviation line. It was a table-top runway and a risky one too. But the pilot who had lost lives is expert in flying plane in this type of runway. The spokesperson of the Air traffic Controller said that since it was raining heavily the visibility at the time of landing was 2000 meters. Anyway, many precious lives were lost because of this occurrence. A complete investigation into this matter will unveil the real cause of accident. As per the reports few years back experts had advised to avoid wide-body aircrafts to land which was ignored and given permission to land later on.
