Kotia Celebrate Nutrition Festival;PD,DRDA

Koraput: The district level nutrition month celebrations have been held at the Koraput Skills Development Centre. The event is being held by Mission Shakti, Odisha Livelihoods Mission, Health Department and the district administration. The main purpose of the festival is to raise awareness about how to fight malnutrition and how to eliminate malnutrition with various nutrients while the national nutrition month runs from September 1 to 30. The event was attended by children, women, Anganwadi workers and women of nutrition. Various nutritious food fairs were held by SHG women. PD DRDA Prabir Kumar Nayak, Zilla Parishad Chairman Tulsi Kirsani, Sushmita Samantaraya, District Director, Odisha Livelihood Mission were the chief guests. People who have done outstanding work in the development of children and women were honored at the ceremony. A food exhibition and a detailed discussion on how women and children can eat nutritious food were discussed.
Prabir Nayak, a Koraput DRDA project officer, said Odisha would host a huge nutrition festival in Kotia. He made the remarks while attending a district-level nutrition festival in Koraput today. “In the coming days, the fight against malnutrition will continue and there will be a mass agitation over nutrition,” he said. It is learned that the Andhra Pradesh government has celebrated the festival of nutrition in various villages, including Kotia, yesterday.
