Koraput Model College will Collapse (!)

Koraput: Fully constructed Koraput Model College will collapse due launching of Bharatmala project on the existing land of the College.

Since the work has been completed it awaited to handed over to the higher education department after few days only.

The Bharatmala project would be set-up costing more than Rs 12 crore from both the central and state governments financial assistance.Once the project work starts would have been set up,fate of the college is in doubt

According to sources, during June 2017, the central government set up model colleges for  four districts, including Koraput.

Koraput administration announced that the National Higher Education Campaign (Russia) 2.0 was planned to be set up in six places in Odisha. On February 9, 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the college through a video conference from Jammu and Kashmir.  It was due to start in the 2017 academic year, but was blocked by Covid19.  The college was built at a cost of about Rs 12 crore. with the facility of Laboratories, Libraries Faculty Common Room Toilet 24-hour Internet Facilities The central government has already paid 60 per cent and the state government 40 per cent to complete the college.
