KBK Parishad to accelerate development process in KBK districts & demand government recognition for Digital and  Web Media

Rayagada, 31st January: For the “KBK Suraksha O Unnayan Parishad”, the formal inauguration and appointment ceremony of the District President was held at Hotel Tejaswi International in an austere ambience. Smt. Bidulata Huika has been appointed as the District President of KBK Protection & Development Forum , Rayagada district.

KBK Parishad aims at social, economic and cultural development of KBK districts. In the first phase of the campaign, emphasis has been given to four districts namely Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Nabarangpur. In the next phase, a comprehensive program will be taken up in Balangir, Subarnapur, Nuapada and Kalahandi districts.

KBK Parishad State President Shri Harish Chandra Parida, chaired a press conference in the hotel, which was also attended by State General Secretary Shri Jiban Jyoti Gadnayak and KBK Parishad, Rayagada District President Smt. Bidulata Huika.

President Parida emphasized on creating awareness as a watch dog of various government funds used in the district, continuing public relations campaigns, focusing on grievance redressal, prioritizing people’s livelihood, and being committed of being a bridge between the society and the government.

Despite informing the government about the problems and possible solutions, if nothing is done, then protests will be held. Though around Rs 3500 crores have been spent for 3000 Bonda PVTGs in Malkangiri, no visible development is seen. The people responsible for this lapse must be held accountable and taken to task. Parishad will raise such issues and advise for probable solutions. Rabindra Patakhandal, a senior journo, raised similar issues faced by Dangaria Kandha and Lanjia Soura PVTGs of Rayagada district.

Although the Indian Constitution has given some rights on political security, it has not given as much rights & protection in the social and economic sectors. Shri Parida said that the Parishad will work on rights and development of the common people by preparing a comprehensive strategy.

 Parishad will also have various cells such as – mining affected people, women, youth, media, farmers, etc. For example, the media cell of the council will demand recognition of all digital and web media of the district by the Information and Public Relations Department of the government.Shri Shyam Kumar Das, Secretary of SAKSHAM, Paschim Prant introduced the Chief Guest Parida.
