Justice Arijit Pasayat to Head Committee to Supervise Inventory of Valuables in Srimandir Ratna Bhandar
Bhubaneswar: Acting on the order of the Orissa High Court, the Odisha government on Thursday formed a high-level committee to supervise the process of inventory of valuables in the Ratna Bhandar Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri.
This 12-member committee will be headed by retired Supreme Court judge Justice Arijit Pasayat. Eminent cardiac surgeon Dr Ramakant Panda will be the deputy chairman of the committee. Other members of the committee are- former CMD of Allahabad Bank Bidhubhusan Samal, Chartered Accountant A K Sabat, Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb’s representative, a representative of ASI, servitor’s representatives- Durgaprasad Das Mohapatra, Madhaba Chandra Mohapatra, Jagannath Kar, Ganesh Mekap, Deputy Chief Administrator of SJTA. The Chief Administrator of SJTA will act as the member convener.
Meanwhile, laser scanning by the ASI detected cracks on the wall of the outer Ratna Bhandar of Srimandir. ASI has submitted a report regarding it to the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
