JSPL remembers Shri OP Jindal on his Punyatithi

ANGUL:Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) observed the 16th Punyatithi of its founder Shri Om Prakash Jindal (Bauji) with a special prayer and various charitable activities today at Angul. In a programme held at Devbhoomi Temple, Employees of JSPL led by Mr Hridayeshwar Jha, Executive Director of the Angul unit, Mr Damodar Mittal, Mr Ravi Shankar, Mr S.K. Sharma and various other department heads, members of Jindal Mahila Samiti (JMS) and local community member paid their floral tribute to the visionary, following COVID-19 protocols.
On this occasion, JSPL Foundation, the Social Arm of JSPL and the members of JMS visited local old age homes and Rehabilitation Centre at Angul and distributed food grain and clothes to the inhabitants.
With indomitable will and perseverance, Shri O.P. Jindal who belonged, a farmer’s son, achieved stellar success both in business and social life. With a vision for self-reliant India and as a pioneering Indian entrepreneur, he had laid the foundation for O.P. Jindal Group, which is a leading business group in the Country. Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry had honoured him with the prestigious “Life Time Achievement Award” for his outstanding contribution to the Indian Steel Industry. He demonstrated his sensitivity to address the contemporary concerns of Indian society and people through active participation in public life as a social worker and politician. He was a member both in the State Legislature of Haryana and in our Nation’s Parliament and meaningfully contributed to welfare of the public. He had also served as the Minister of Power in the Government of Haryana. As a social worker, he was instrumental in setting up and managing various schools, hospitals and other social institutions.
Employees of JSPL’s Bhubaneswar Office also paid their homage to the Founder of the Group. In his tribute to the Founder Mr Prashant Hota, President and Head of Bhubaneswar Office and Mr Hervinder Singh, President said that the genesis of ‘Make in India’ and Atmanirbhar Bharat can be traced back to the path-breaking contribution of Shri OP Jindal to the industrial development of India.
JSPL Foundation also distributed food material among needy senior citizens and specially-abled children.
