JSP Observes Shri O.P. Jindal’s 20th Punyatithi with Mega Voluntary Blood Donation Drive and Community Initiatives

· Seven hundred fifty-one units of blood voluntarily donated, reinforcing the spirit of community service.

Angul : Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) observed the 20th Punyatithi of its visionary founder, Shri Om Prakash Jindal Ji, with organising a Mega Voluntary Blood Donation Camp and various other social service activities at Angul plant.

The observance began with Akhand Shri Ram Charita Manas Puja at the Devbhoomi Temple, Jindal Nagar, where Mr. Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director (Angul Unit), Mr. Damodar Mittal, Executive Director (Projects), Mr. Dilip Sinha, CHRO, along with department heads, employees, and their families, paid floral tributes to Shri O.P. Jindal Ji, fondly known as Bauji.

JSP successfully organised the voluntary blood donation drive through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, Jindal Foundation, in collaboration with the Odisha Blood Centre DHH Angul, Athmallik, and Talcher. Employees, their families, and the local community members overwhelmingly participated in the mega voluntary blood donation camp and donated Seven hundred fifty-one units of blood, reinforcing JSP’s commitment to humanitarian service.

Upholding Bauji’s Vision of Community Service Carrying forward Bauji’s philosophy that “service to mankind is service to God”, voluntary blood donation has become an annual tradition for JSP employees and the community living in the vicinity. The overwhelming response to this initiative highlights the deep-rooted culture of giving and social responsibility upheld by JSP and its stakeholders.

As part of the observation, Jindal Foundation donated a Mukti Rath (mortuary vehicle) to the District Health Administration, Angul, which will be stationed at the Angul District Hospital. This vehicle will provide a much-needed service, ensuring the dignified transportation of the deceased to their respective homes. The CHRO of JSP, Mr. Dilip Sinha, formally handed over the vehicle keys to Dr. Shibananda Mohanty, DDM & PHO Angul, in the presence of other dignitaries and staff members.

Additionally, the Jindal Foundation extended support to various social welfare organisations by providing dry ration supplies, further reinforcing its commitment to community well-being.

The Jindal Mahila Samiti, under the leadership of Mrs Seema Malhan and Mrs Anita Mittal, actively participated in the charitable initiatives, along with employees from various departments, honouring the values and vision of Bauji.

A Legacy of Vision and Excellence Shri O.P. Jindal, who hailed from a humble farming background, rose to become a pioneering industrialist and a visionary leader. His contributions to nation-building, particularly in the steel sector, earned him the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. His distinguished career also included serving as a Member of the Haryana State Legislature, Member of Parliament, and Minister of Power in the Government of Haryana.
