Berhampur: Amidst the growing clarion to censor online content through newly framed IT rules in the Nation, the issue of harassment and acquisition of illegal gratification by some, Reporters of web channels has come up as a major challenge for basic ethics of the journalism.

While briefing to scribe on Wednesday,Mr Pinak Mishra,Superitendent of Police has said keeping in view of many fresh instances across the Odisha also some cases under his notice in Berhampur police district. He stresses the issue very seriously and said drastic action can be impose if any cases came to the table of any Police Stations.

People and officers here given the open hand independency to come forward and put their complaint in case they face such embarrassing situation, Mr.Mishra further added.

Adding more to the grave situation, two representatives of a news web portal were arrested on the charges of demanding an extortion of Rs 50,000 from a teacher in Nabarangpur district.

Mr.Mishra had also voiced serious concern over running of fake news on social media platforms and mushrooming of web portals carrying vague content.
