Jindal Steel Reinforces Workplace Safety Culture during 55th National Safety Week at Angul

Angul, March 12, 2026:In observance of the 55th National Safety Week, held at Jindal Steel, the organization reaffirmed its commitment to workplace safety through a series of awareness and engagement activities at its facility in Angul. The week was celebrated under the theme “Engage, Educate and Empower People to Enhance Safety,” highlighting the importance of awareness, knowledge, and active participation in building a safe and responsible workplace.

On the concluding day at Eden Gardens, Jindal Nagar was graced by Dr. Ramesh Chandra Behera, Deputy Director of Factories & Boilers, Angul Division, as the Chief Guest. His presence added significance to the event as he appreciated the company’s proactive efforts toward promoting workplace safety and encouraging employee engagement in safety initiatives.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of senior leadership, including P. K. Biju Nair, Angul Location Head and Executive Director; Damodar Mittal, Executive Director (Iron Zone); HridayeshwarJha, Executive Director (SMS & Mills); JitendraParida, AVP – Head Safety & EMD; and Yoga Guru Swami SatyabinduSaraswati. The Heads of Departments, employees, and business partners across the plant joined enthusiastically, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the organization’s safety culture.
On this occasion, Executive Director P. K. Biju Nair said in his speech that Jindal Steel has world-class equipment and resources, and therefore everyone must prove their commitment through their actions. He emphasized that there should be no compromise when it comes to safety, and we should set an example for others by maintaining a safe workplace.
During the week, several activities and competitions were organized to encourage employee participation and increase awareness about safety practices. These included NukkadNatak,SurakshaRath (an awareness vehicle), safety talks, installation of safety awareness stalls, and quiz competitions.
Jindal Steel awarded employees who performed exceptionally well in various safety-related activities conducted throughout the week. Shree Bhumi Power Plant (SBPP) also observed Safety Week with enthusiastic participation.
