Jewelleries worth 1 crore recovered after one month of loot in Gajapati district

Mohana: Jewelleries worth Rs 1 crore have been recovered in Gajapati district of Odisha after one month of loot. Two persons have been arrested in this connection.

The jewelleries had been looted from a shop near the main market in Mohana of Gajapati district on September 25. The miscreants had looted 70 thousand rupees in cash apart from about one crore rupees worth of jewellery.

Among the arrested accused persons, one is from Aska area of Ganjam district and the other is from Sonepur district.

According to information, on the night of last September 25, two unknown robbers came on a bike and robbed Rs 70 thousand rupees along with gold and silver.

A month after the incident, Police have managed to nab the culprits.  Police seized 300 kg of silver, 400 grams of gold jewellery and 40 thousand rupees in cash.

Gajapati SP Yatindra Panda informed that a big theft racket is working behind this and other accused involved in the loot will be arrested very soon.
