Interstate Brown Sugar Peddlers arrested by STF team, Odisha

Bhubaneswar:On the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by team of STF, BBSR on NH-16 near Tangi on 20.10.2021 against illegal trade of Narcotic Drugs and apprehended one interstate drug peddlers namely Safikul Sk. @ Khokan S/o.LateGolam Sk. of Mirzapur, Poliapara (Paschimpara), P.S.-Beldanga, Dist.-Mursidabad, West Bengal.
During search Brown Sugar weighing 01 Kg 043 gram and other incriminating materials were recovered & seized from his possession. The accused person could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials, for which the accused person was arrested and will be forwarded to the court of Spl. Judge cum District & Sessions Judge, Cuttack, Dist. Cuttack. In this connection STF PS Case No.35 dated 20.10.2021 U/s. 21(c)/29 NDPS Act, 1985 was registered.
During preliminary investigation interstate ramification has been established and drug peddlers have been identified. Steps is being taken to nab the involved interstate drug peddlers in the instant case. Investigation is on.
Since 2020, STF in the special drive against narcotic drugs has seized more than 41 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin and more than 86 quintals 81 kg (86.81) of Ganja /Marijuna and arrested more than 100 drug dealers/peddlers.
