High Court to petitioner: Approach CID CB if any additional information
Cuttack:A PIL pertaining to espionage case of integrated test range Centre (ITR), Chandipur, Balasore being filed by Sri Arun Kumar Budhia, Advocate in person was listed for hearing before the Court of Hon’ble Chief Justice and Hon’ble Justice Ms. S.Rath on Friday.
During course of hearing the counsel for the State informed the Hon’ble Court of charge-sheet having been filed under various Sections of IPC and Official Secrets Act by the CB/CID, Odisha. It was further submitted of charges having been framed and trail has commenced in the Court of Additional Session Judge, Balasore.
The Counsel for the petitioner informed the Court of Foreign Nationals being involved in the espionage racket with the active participation of ISI agents and money has been transmitted from Dubai to the accused persons. On such submissions being made by the counsel for the petitioner, Deputy Solicitor General of India also confirmed to the Court that the Central Government closely monitored the case and extended all cooperation to the State Crime Branch. The counsel for the petitioner further stated that it being a case involving Foreign Countries hence, further investigation is required even though charge-sheet has been filed and trail commenced.
Accepting such submission of the petitioner’s counsel the Court has disposed of the writ petition by giving liberty to the petitioner to approach S.P., CB/CID with any additional documents available pertaining to the case in question. The S.P. CID if satisfied with such additional documents may direct further investigation in the matter and thereafter if need be the petitioner can approach this Hon’ble Court.
The case was being conducted by Sri Goutam Kumar Acharya, Senior Advocate being assisted by Advocate Sri Akhand and Sri Santosh Sahu.
