In Rayagada: Women Entrepreneurs’ capacity built in marketing millet based products

Rayagada (Badal Tah): In a significant step towards promoting entrepreneurship among women, the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) and IDBI Bank successfully concluded their 18-day Enterprise Growth Program at Dudukabahal Village, Kashipur Block.
The program focused on branding and packaging support for millet-based products, aiming to empower women entrepreneurs and enhance their competitiveness in the market. Through this initiative, participants were equipped with livelihood-supportive equipment, including oil dryers, dough kneaders, weight machines, sealing machines and ovens.
This enabled them to prepare a variety of millet-based domestic eatables, thereby expanding their business prospects. The training program was attended by Nihar Ranjan Sahu, Manager, IDBI, Manmath Kumar Pattnaik, Assistant Branch Manager, IDBI Bank, Aswini Ku Mishra, Coordinator, EDII and Papun Kumar Pradhan, Trainer and Motivator, EDII-RISE.
During the concluding ceremony, certificates were handed over to the entrepreneurs, marking a significant milestone in their entrepreneurial journey. The event highlighted the growing global demand for millets and the importance of supporting entrepreneurs in this sector.
These initiatives are part of EDII’s ongoing efforts in Nakatiguda Village and Dudukabahala Village, aimed at fostering sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment among rural women.
