Imran Khan arrested in Connection of Ganja Smuggling

Berhampur: Two smugglers has been arrested for alleged transporting in illegal Ganja (dry cannabis) smuggling in Berhampur Police district. The duo has been identified as Imran Khan(40),S/O-Anwar Khan of Derhadun,PS.Patilanagar State.-Uttarakhand and Suraj Prakash (31) S/O.Bijili Roy of village/PS. Noida sector-37(UP).Around 304 kilograms of Ganja, One Truck bearing Regd. No-UP11 BT 7495.have also been seized from their possession by the Golonthara Police.
According to police release on date 27.03.2022 at about 09.30 AM Golantahra Police was performing M.V. checking and blocking at Surala junction on the N.H.-16. At that time while checking a truck Police found aTruck bearing Regd. No-UP11 BT 7495. And during checking of that truck Police detected the above noted Ganja case and arrested two accused persons. During the preliminary investigation it was ascertained so far that the accused persons were transporting the Ganja from Visakhapatnam to Guwahati. The accused Imran Khan is the owner of the truck seized. Investigation into the case is on to ascertain the source of procurement and the destination of the transportation and involvement of other persons and further necessary action.
