IMPORTANT ALLY CONGRESS IN MAHARASHTRA GOVERNMENT HAVING NO ROLE IN DECISION-MAKING

DELHI:It refers to politically significant statement of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi that Congress is not a key-decision taking ally in Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi government of Maharashtra, further adding that there is a difference between running and supporting a government. Such a statement could have been digested only if Congress would have been supporting the government from outside without being a part of the government, like minority Chandrashekhar-government at the centre was supported from outside by Congress.
Such statement of Rahul Gandhi creats feeling that all is not well politically in unidealistic alliance government in Maharashtra. It is significant that Prime Minister rather helped in stability of political rival government in Maharashtra by ensuring elections for state Legislative Council so that Uddhav Thakrey could continue as Chief Minister of the state, because corona-crisis and lockdown was not appropriate for political vendetta or unstability.
Chief Minister must be elected through compulsory and secret vote of all MLAs through EVMs equipped with VVPAT on nominations sgned by at least 34-percent MLAs to eliminate opposrtunistc non-ideallistic alliances and to ensure stable government for full terms, wth provision to unseat such an elected Chief Kinister through same process but with compulsion to name alternate leader through same motion.
