BERHAMPUR:Tightening the noose around the necks of wood smugglers and running a illegal saw mill at Beljhari under Khalikote range in Ganjam.
Saturday Forest officials seized illegal timbers worth lakhs by conducting a raid.
After getting a tip-off from Berhampur DFO Amlan Naik on the illegal log consignment a team of Khalikote forest officials the saw mill located inside Belajhari.
During the raid, the officials came across huge amount of logs of ‘sal’ wood and seized them. Similarly, a number of tools used in wood cutting were also found from the spot.
