IIMC DHENKANAL ORGANISES POETRY FESTIVAL ‘SHABDANJALI’

Dhenkanal,21/09/20:September 2020: the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Dhenkanal organized a virtual Hindi poetry festival ‘Shabdanjali’ on Sunday, September 20, as part of Hindi week celebration. Eminent Hindi poets and poetesses of the country recited self-written their poems, ghazals, and dohas’.
Internationally renowned poet Laxmi Shankar Vajpayee recited his poems and also sang Doha, a form of the self-contained rhyming couplet in poetry, and ghazal, a form of amatory poem or ode. He had expressed his opinions in different forms of poetry about the beauty of nature, the passion of man, the empowerment of women, and the rural environment.
Anamika, an award-winning poetess from Rajbhasha, said people should respect Hindi and English equally. Poetess Renu Hussain sang ghazals with poems. Another poet Pankaj Prasoon sarcastically criticized people for commenting badly on Hindi. He also recited satirical poems on various issues in the country and society.
Focusing the ongoing pandemic, filmmaker and poet Ravi Yadav intoned a beautiful poem on the current situation ‘Covid-19’ and the expectations of the female mind. Poetess Rashmi Bhardwaj described the social attitude towards women in his poems.
The virtual event was conducted and moderated by the Poet Vishnupriya Pandey, and Itishree Singh Rathore, news editor, All India Radio (AIR) Cuttack. The session was attended by many poets, poetesses and literary lovers, media industry experts, media academicians, research scholars, faculty of the IIMC, and the students from different parts of the country.
