ICAR-RCER, Patna Organizes Special Swachhta Drive

Bhubaneswar:A mega Swachhta drive was organized at ICAR – Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna on 07.10.2023 under Special Swachhta Drive 3.0. The target was huge, as more than 500 m of roadside (the front side of RCER, Patna) was filled with garbage, plastics, filthy materials and jungles. It took more than 15 tractor-trolley loads to clean the garbage. Dr. Anup Das, Director took an active part in this drive supported by Scientists, officers and employees, field staff, Safai Mitras and other staff of the institute.

The Director appreciated the effort and stressed on the need for teamwork to keep office premises, public places, schools, home yards clean and garbage-free. “It’s our moral responsibility and duty to keep our surroundings clean. Cleanliness is Godliness”, said Dr. Das.

During the Swachhta drive, roadside shops and vendors were also sansitised to keep the surroundings clean and garbage-free. Shri Brahm Kumar Yadav, a vendor wholeheartedly contributed to this drive and agreed to keep the surroundings clean. Patriotic songs and music with the theme of cleanliness were also played to make the programme lively and effective. It is worth mentioning that the ICAR-RCER, Patna is organizing a monthlong Special Swachhta Drive with effect from October 2, 2023. Although it was a holiday, yet almost 100 staff participated in this drive making it a grand success.
