Huge Seizure of Contraband Ganja in Rayagada

Rayagada, September 25: At about 10 AM on last Saturday while Padmapur police station staff were performing day patrolling and motor vehicle checking near Kenduguda out post, they detected a truck bearing no-WB03 C5594 with one person transporting contraband ganja from Nuagada side to Raipur of Chhattishgarh. The ganja was weighed 1008 kgs, which was seized alongwith the truck and two cellphones. The prized contraband was hidden in the truck being interpersed with dried agglomerated whole milk powder spray.
The accused had been arrested under Padmapur PS case no.82 dtd.25.09.2021 u/s.20(b)(ii)(C) NDPS Act. Further investigation is under progress.
Similar huge catches and destruction of cultivation of ganja had been possible under the leadership of Rayagada SP Sri Vivekananda Sharma, IPS since he took this position in Rayagada. Several illegal cultivators, transporters and intruders had been taken to task.
