Huge Contraband Brown Sugar Seized by STF,Odisha

Bhubaneswar:On the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by team of STF, BBSR with the help of Balasore Police at Masjidgali near Railway Level Crossing, Aradabazar, Balasore on 07.09.2022 against illegal deal/possession of Narcotic Drugs and apprehended one interstate drug peddler namely Sk Rafiq @ Ruga S/o. Late Sk Julfukar, who hails from Panchkula, West Bengal and at present residing at Masjidgali, Arada Bazar PS. Sahadevkhunta Dist. Balasore.
During search contraband brown sugar weighing 1380 gm and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from his possession. The accused person could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials, for which the accused person was arrested and is being forwarded to the court of District & Sessions cum Spl. Judge, Balasore. In this connection STF PS Case No.18 dated 07.09.2022 U/s 21(c)/29 of NDPS Act 1985 was registered. Investigation is on.
The above noted accused was also involved in three other criminal cases including narcotic cases of Balasore district.
Special drive against narcotic drugs is continuing. Since 2020, STF has seized more than 57 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin, 202 Gram Cocaine and more than 111 quintals of Ganja/Marijuna, Opium 750 gram and arrested more than 158 drug dealers/peddlers.
