“Huge Buildings Built On Govt Lands By Influential People Will Be Demolished”: Suresh Pujari

Bhubaneswar: Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari on Wednesday said that huge buildings built on government lands by influential people will be demolished.

Earlier, only poor people who had encroached upon a small portion of land were getting evicted from the government lands but Now, there would be action against the rich and other influential people in the state, warned Pujari.

“We have not got many records. I have seen in the last several years that structures of people in 2 to 4 decimal of land were razed. There are many influential people, officials who have encroached upon government land,” said Pujari.

Pujari further said that such people and officials have constructed high-rise buildings and soon such structures will be razed by bulldozers.

Earlier, the Odisha government had also directed District Collectors to take steps to remove illegal encroachment from government lands- both in urban and rural areas in the state.
