Highway Robbery Group detected; Three arrested by Berhampur Sadar Police

Berhampur,(27/02/26): On 26.02.2026 at 01:05 PM, a case was registered based on the complaint of Upendra Gouda (32), son of Balaram Gouda, a resident of Village Dura, PS Gopalpur, District Ganjam.
During the ongoing investigation, the Investigating Officer seized the stolen mobile phone, Rs. 2,000/- in cash, and the Royal Enfield Bullet (Regd. No. OD 07 K 3366) used during the commission of the crime from the possession of accused persons.
Investigation sought that the complainant, Upendra Gouda, is a driver by profession.
On the day of the incident, 24.02.2026 at 10:30 PM, while he was driving his truck from Berhampur to Hinjilicut, he was intercepted on the Ratanpur-Jagadalpur road (NH 59).
The noted accused persons arrived on a Bullet (Regd. No. OD 07 K 3366) and blocked his truck. they snatched mobile phone from his shirt pocket.
As he stepped down from the truck, the accused physically assaulted him in the manner of (pushing and pulling) and robbed him of Rs. 5,500/- and fled in a white motorcycle.
While they were leaving, complainant managed to note the registration number of the motorcycle.
He subsequently reported the matter to the truck owner and, acting on his instructions, filed a report at the Police Station for necessary legal action.
In context, police registered a case; U/S- 309(4) BNS .
All three arrested Accused persons identified as;
- Lucky Das (24), Rudra Das of village- Ratnapur, Berhampur and Susanta Behera (26) Kalua Sahi, 1st Gate PS- Badabazar..Berhampur
Police have seized :
1. One android mobile phone,
2. Cash – Rs. 2,000/-
3. Royal Enfield Bullet bearing Regd. No. OD 07 K 3366 from their possession.
The trio accused were forwarded to the Honorable Court on Friday 27.02.2026.
