Heavy To Very Heavy Rainfall Predicted In Several Odisha Districts Today

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the IMD has forecasted intense rainfall, expected to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Boudh, Subarnapur, and Sambalpur today.

The weather office, in its mid-day bulletin on Wednesday, stated that there is a high likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the aforementioned districts.

Additionally, the districts of Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Nayagarh, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Kalahandi are expected to experience heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) today, according to the IMD.

The local office of the India Meteorological Department predicts ongoing light to moderate rainfall across the state, with the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning throughout the week.

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are likely to have cloudy skies today, with potentially heavy rainfall, a maximum temperature of 30°C, and a minimum temperature of 25°C.

The local weather office has issued a warning to residents in the low-lying areas of Cuttack about potential waterlogging, occasional poor visibility, and probable traffic disruptions in urban areas.

The regional office of the IMD has advised residents to limit movement in the affected areas, prepare for excess water drainage, and stay alert to changes in the weather.
