HEALTH WORKER OF MUNIGUDA CHC, NABBED VIGILANCE WHILE TAKING BRIBE FOR ISSUANCE OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE
Rayagada : Last Wednesday, Kunja Bihari Rout, Male Health Worker (MHW)-cum-Clerk of Muniguda Community Health Centre has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking 2nd and final instalment of bribe Rs 3,000/- of overall demand of bribe of Rs 6,000/- from a poor farmer complainant in his office room for issuance of birth certificate of his son.
Accused Rout had received Rs.3000/- from complainant a few days back, but insisted for the rest bribe amount of Rs.3000/- for furnishing the same. Finding no other means, the poor complainant approached the Vigilance authorities alleging harassment by Rout.
Following this, a Vigilance team nabbed Rout last Wednesday while taking rest bribe amount of Rs.3000/- from the complainant.The entire tainted bribe money was recovered from the possession of accused Rout and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Rout from DA angle.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No 27/2025, U/s 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against accused Rout, MHW. Investigation is in progress.
