Bhubaneswar: In a significant development for Odisha’s IT and education landscape, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that HCL Technologies will soon establish its operations in the state. The declaration came during his address at the Odisha Investors’ Meet in Delhi, where he pitched Odisha as a rising investment and innovation hub.

HCL Technologies, one of India’s top-tier IT firms, is set to launch a full-fledged campus in Bhubaneswar. Additionally, the company plans to establish a university offering specialised programmes in computer science, artificial intelligence, data analytics and other emerging technologies. With IT giants like Infosys, TCS and Wipro already present in the state, HCL’s entry is expected to accelerate Odisha’s emergence as a key player in India’s digital ecosystem.

The Chief Minister is currently in Delhi for a series of investment meetings. MoUs are expected to be signed with major entities like IOCL, Petronet LNG and ISPRL, potentially bringing in substantial investments in the petrochemical sector. These collaborations aim to bolster industrial infrastructure, generate employment and align with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision of self-reliant growth.
