Hanuman Coin racket Busted by Berhampur Police

Berhampur:The Badabazar Police has foil an attempt of cheating in respect of dealing of Rs 2 Crs by selling the Three “HANUMAN COINS “seems to have antique value at Shanti Nagar in the house of one Surjya Patra on Monday morning.
In this connection the Bada Bazaar police have arrested seven accused persons namely Pradeep Mahapatra(41) of Khetrajpur, Sambalpur,Anil Kusum (34) of Sasan, Sambalpur, Suresh Meher (31) of Khetrajpur Sambalpur , Akshaya Kumar Patra (36) of Soroda, Ganjam, Jayanta Pradhan(21) of Panposh, Rourkela, Vijen Kumar Bag(40) of Panposh Rourkela and S.Jayaram Patra (34) of Bomkei, K.Nuagaon were apprehended.
Police have seized three Hanuman coins, Cash of Rs. 1.5 Lakhs, two numbers of Motorcycles, Magnate, Spirit and other incriminating materials from their possession. However the house owner Surjya Patra has absconded, police said.
According to Prabhat Routray,ASP, accused persons were congregated in the house of Surjya Patra of Shanti Nagar for a deal of Rs. 2 Crs (Approx) and were awaiting the arrival of the customers whose names have not been verified.
Prashant Bhupati,IIC Bada Bazar getting reliable information from credible sources the staff conducted the raid and apprehended the accused persons foiling the attempt to cheat the customers. The accused persons are being forwarded to Court on Tuesday. The investigation is continuing.In this connection Bada Bazar P.S case No 22/2021 U/s 120(B)/417/419/420/511/34 IPC R/w Sec 25(1)(2) of the Antiques and Treasures Act 1972 has been registered.
