GPR survey report of Ratna Bhandar to be released soon: Law Minister
Bhubaneswar : Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan informed that the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey report conducted inside and outside the Ratna Bhandar of the Shree Jagannath Temple is expected to be released soon.
The survey, aimed at assessing the structural stability of the temple’s treasure vault, was carried out by experts from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Minister Harichandan said on Sunday that the survey report findings will likely be disclosed within two to four days. The ASI team, led by Justice Biswanath Rath, used advanced scanning equipment to evaluate the condition of the walls surrounding Ratna Bhandar.
He further stated that the state government will decide its next steps based on the report. Appropriate measures will be taken if the survey detects any hidden treasures such as gold or silver. If no such findings are reported, the ASI will immediately proceed with the necessary repair work.
“The counting of ornaments will take place only after the treasure boxes are returned to Ratna Bhandar, following the completion of the repairs,” the minister added.
