GOPALPUR BEACH FESTIVAL 20K19 INAUGURATED BY ODISHA CHIEF MINISTER NAVEEN PATNAIK

Gopalpur on Sea:Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the five-day annual Gopalbpur beach festival in the presence of state Assembly Speaker S N Patro on Tuesday.
Prior to the inauguration Chief Minister distributed Patta to many landless people, Homeless people of nearby villagers in presence of District Collector, Vijay Amruta Kulange,SP Berhampur Pinak Mishra,SP Ganjam Brijesh Ray, Sub collector Sindhe Dattatraya Bhausaheb,Minister,Bikram Arukh,MP,Chandra Sekhar Sahu,MLA Gopalpur cum Chairman of festival committee Dr Pradeep Panigrahy,MLA Berhampur Bikram Panda,MPs,MLAs of Ganjam and other dignitaries.
Collector Kulange said, this year the special attraction of this festival is”Paliishree Mela”,”Regional Herbal Mela” and “Mo Gellha Jhia” which is being inaugurated by our Chief Minister,Naveen Patnaik.
Braving the winter chill, a large number of people, mainly from Berhampur and nearby areas, thronged the tourist town to attend the festival, held at the golden sandy beach accompanied by tight security by Berhampur police and SP Berhampur Mr Pinak Mishra personally involved and monitoring the law and order in 360 degree approach.
The festival is set to roll out a variety of programmes including folk dance and music, classical as well as the modern dances by renowned artists and groups from across the state and outside. Moreover the special attraction performed by Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam.
Interestingly like previous years this festive event one of the attractive showcase with local Folk Dance,Odishi,Jodi Sankha,Sambalpuri,Samundra Arati,Fashion show and Modern Dance
The Golden Beach area was agog with visitors, the beach area is well decorated with colourful lights for the festival.
MLA Gopalpur cum Chairman Gopalpur Beach Festival committee Dr Pradeep Panigrahy who presided over the meeting said, keeping in view of to crowd visitors and to accommodate them with a full view of the programme we have enhanced the festive location.
This evening witness around 50 thousands visitors on day one for which “I am personally thankful to the district administration, Police Department to manage the crowd and keep them firmly under control”
