Gold, Ornaments Worth over Rs 2.5 Lakhs Seized by Berhampur Police

Berhampur : Berhampur Sadar police on Thursday seized gold ornaments worth around Rs 2.5 lakhs and detained four persons in Sadar PS area in this connection.
The accuse persons were identified as S. Kanha (Age- 25 Yrs), Village- Nuapada, Dengapadar, PS- B. Sadar, Dist- Ganjam,S. Debendra (26 Yrs),Village- Nuapada, Dengapadar, PS- B. Sadar, Dist- Ganjam,T. Kampa (22 Yrs), Village- Indira Awas, Balipada, PS- B. Sadar, Dist- Ganjam and Sanjay Nayak (50 Yrs),Vill- Harijana Sahi, Dengapadar, PS- B. Sadar, Dist- Ganjam (Receiver).
Initial investigation suggests on the Complain report of complainant Venkar Raman Prusty (Age-35 Yrs), Village- Braja Nagar, 3rd Line, Berhampur, PS- Berhampur Sadar P.S., Dist- Ganjam the a case has been registered and investigation into.
During investigation the above noted accused persons arrested on 13.01.2022 at 12.30 PM and interrogation.
During interrogation the accused persons confessed that, on 01.01.2022 at about night hours they committed theft Gold Jewelry and some cash in the residential house of Hare Krushna Prusty situated at village Braja Nagar, 3rd Line, Berhampur and the same stolen Gold Jewelry, are sold one Sanjay Nayak of Harijana Sahi, Dengapadar.Police Seized the above noted stolen gold ornaments from receiver accused Sanjay Nayak in presence of witnesses. The above accused persons are being forwarded to the court. Other accused persons who are at large will be apprehended within few days and the remaining stolen property will be recovered from them said Pinak Mishra, SP,Berhampur.
Police have recovered One gold chain rounded design weighing about 6.150 grams, One gold chain flat design weighing about 6.090 grams,One gold finger ring weighing about 2.300 grams,One gold finger ring weighing about 1.660 grams, One gold ladies finger ring weighing about 2.400 grams,One gold ladies finger ring weighing about 1.820 grams,One gold finger ring with stone weighing about 1.700 grams, and One pair ear ring weighing about 1.610 grams.
Police suspect the accused were having some more at some secret places and their motto may be to deliver them to various jewellery stores in Berhampur. They have been detained for further investigation Mishra Said.
