Berhampur:.On last Thursday a case was registered on the report of Sudhanshu Mishra, Area manager of Manapuram Finance Limited in which it was alleged that 26 nos of gold loans were disbursed by Smita Rupa Padhy, the Ex-Branch head of Kamapalli Branch to the loanees. N.Rajesh Achary has availed 16 loans and the loanees P.Shiva Kumar, Smt. P.Lata, and other two loanees availed 10 loans from Kamapalli Branch from January-2021 to May-2021. The gold ornaments which were pledged as security were found to be gold coated ornament. The said ornaments were not tested properly by the branch manager and the other staff of the branch. The accused persons were identified as N.RajeshAchary (34) of M.G Road Aska , P.Shiva Kumar (24) of Somanatha Nagar , Berhampur ,.Smt. P.Lata (44) of Somanatha Nagar , and J.Manoja Kumar Achary (37) of Sriram Nagar 3rdLane, Berhampur. PS-Badabazar.
The amount of cheating cost around Rs 19,05,314/-. By producing 796.28 grams of gold coated ornaments according to IIC BN Pur Mr.Ram Chandra Murmu.They all arrested on Sunday and being forwarded to court. Investigation is in progress. The complicity of other accused person including the staff of Kamapalli branch are under police scanner.
