Golanthara; Youth Killed due to Past Enmity Police Detained one Suspect

Berhampur,( 07/07/25: A youth was allegedly killed due to past enmity in Ganjam district of Odisha yesterday night. The incident took place in the Singabadi village under Golanthara Police Station limits in the district.
It is being discussed that Dillip was killed over past enmity.a group discussion in public place.
According to source Some miscreants came near Dillip’s house and killed him. The crime was committed in very close proximity to Dilip’s house late last night (?) (!!!).
After getting information, Golanthara police reached the scene and initiated investigation. Further investigation of the matter is underway..
Police confrmed that The deceased youth has been identified as Dillip Patra..
Today at late eveningFinalll, Mr.(Dr) Sarvana Vivek,M, confirmed all confusion through a press release that,)One Harish Chandra Patra of Berhampur reported that his brother Dilip Kumar Patra, 46 yrs of village Singhabadi who was staying alone was murdered by some unknown culprits on 6 July 2025 night at around 10.45 PM.
Senior officers including SP Berhampur , DSP. OIC Golanthara PS visited the spot and started investigation . Scientific team visited the spot.
Dead body was sent to MKCG for postmortem
During investigation it is learnt that the deceased had met with a bike accident with one Pitabash Gowda from his own village
After the bike accident Pitabash Gowda and deceased Dilip Patra had argument regarding compensation. Dilip Patra had promised he would give some compensation. There was argument regarding the money compensation.
Yesterday night at around 10.45 PM , some unknown persons entered the house of Dilip Patra and dragged him outside and hacked him with swords to death.
Police have detained one suspect from Singabadi village and is interrogating him regarding the murder.
Further investigation going on to identify and arrest other accused persons
